Editorial & Fact-Checking Policy

PdfPix is dedicated to publishing technically accurate, reproducible, and unbiased guides on PDF document engineering, privacy architectures, and browser-first software. This policy outlines our standards for authorship, technical verification, and reader corrections.

1. Core Editorial Mission

Our mission is to help developers, legal teams, educators, students, and businesses solve document workflow challenges safely and efficiently. We evaluate every topic through a practical, privacy-first engineering lens:

  • ✔Accuracy & Reproducibility: Every command, code sample, workflow recommendation, and specification reference is tested against current production browser environments and the ISO 32000-2 standard.
  • ✔User Privacy Over Telemetry: We prioritize local, client-side solutions that do not require file transmission to remote servers whenever technically feasible.
  • ✔No Sponsored Bias: Our editorial recommendations and tool comparisons are independent. We never accept payment to rank or favorably review any proprietary software or service.

2. Authorship & Technical Credentials

Articles on PdfPix are written and reviewed by experienced software engineers and systems designers who have hands-on experience building browser-first WebAssembly utilities and PDF parser engines.

3. Fact-Checking & Testing Methodology

Prior to publication or major updates, all technical articles undergo a multi-step verification process:

Specification Compliance

Claims regarding PDF compression ratios, xref tables, linearized streams, font subsetting, and PDF/A conformance are validated against official specifications from the PDF Association and ISO 32000-1 / ISO 32000-2.

Cross-Browser Empirical Testing

Client-side behavior, memory consumption, canvas rendering, and download mechanics are tested across Chromium (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave), Gecko (Mozilla Firefox), and WebKit (Apple Safari).

Authoritative Citations

We link directly to primary sources, standards bodies, W3C documentation, and academic publications rather than secondary roundups or content aggregators.

Security & Privacy Audits

We state the actual data flow for every tool rather than a blanket claim. Tools that process locally are described as local, and the three features that send extracted text to a model provider are named explicitly. Where a tool covers content rather than removing it, we say so, and we distinguish that from the rasterising approach used by Redact PDF.

4. AI & Automation Ethics

As creators of client-side AI summarization and OCR tools, we maintain transparent standards regarding artificial intelligence:

  • •Human-Authored Content: All guides, tutorials, comparison matrices, and educational articles are conceived, written, and fact-checked by human engineers. We do not publish unverified AI-generated content.
  • •Transparent Tool Disclosures: When discussing AI document tools (such as our in-browser extractive summarizer), we clearly detail model limitations, hallucination risks, and privacy boundaries.
  • •No Training on User Data: User documents processed via our client-side utilities are never stored, logged, or utilized to train machine learning models.

5. Corrections & Retraction Policy

We believe in total accountability. When a factual or technical error is identified in our content:

  1. Immediate Review: Our engineering team investigates reader error submissions within 24–48 business hours.
  2. Transparent Correction: Substantive factual corrections are published directly in the updated article, accompanied by an updated timestamp and an explicit correction notice when appropriate.
  3. Version Tracking: Major revisions reflect the current software ecosystem and modern browser capabilities.
